What to Expect
Join an all female crew as we take part in regattas across the Caribbean, choose your destination from Grenada, St Maarten, BVI Islands, St Barths or Antigua. Moonflower 3 will race with six crew members plus Skipper Chloe Need onboard. No prior sailing experience is required to join although seasoned sailors are welcome to join for a new experience and develop their skills. Your skipper will teach you all that is needed to be a competent crew member from teaching the basics of sailing to advancing skills of helming, sail trim and race tactics. This is an active trip and crew will be involved in all aspects of ´boat life` from assisting with boat docking and meal preparation to of course, being an active crew whilst sailing, all to ensure a close knit team for optimal performance on the race course. Although Moonflower 3 is designed to be a competitive yacht and consistently pushes for a high result, the number one priority onboard is always safety.
Trip itinerary
Our regatta trips vary in length from 8 - 11 days with dates available from January - May 2024 Please see individual trip documents for complete itinerary, however here is an overall example,

DAY 1- Arrival day
Arrive to Moonflower 3 and meet your Skipper and crew members. Your skipper will give a safety briefing to familiarise you with the boat and onboard systems and ease you into yacht life.
DAY 2 - 3 Training days
Starting with more in-depth safety we start our sail training and become comfortable in several roles on deck.
DAY 4 - 9 Race Days
Spend the days racing and fine tuning your skills onboard. Evenings are very social during regattas with prize giving events and the chance to meet other sailors.
Day 10 - Departure day
Say goodbye to your new friends and crew after what we believe will be an unforgettable experience.
About the yacht
You will be onboard Moonflower 3, a Salona 44 performance cruiser sailing yacht built 2013. At 44 feet (13.5 meters) length, she consists of 4 Cabins and 2 Heads (bathrooms). Accommodation onboard will be in a shared cabin with another crew member. There is a fully equipped Galley (kitchen) to prepare meals throughout the trip. The yacht is kept to a high standard and an in-depth preventative maintenance schedule is followed year round to ensure your safety on board. All safety equipment is serviced with by qualified professional within the manufacturers recommended dates. All crew are issued with a personal lifejacket with Personal Locator Beacon (MOB1) attached.
